The days with the P are enchanting and unbelievable with the things she says and does. They can also be brutally frustrating but I’d say we’re in 70-30 brilliant to frustrating.
Her choice of clothes and accessories as you can see are hysterical. These glasses were all her. I had nothing to do with the selection.
She was in her room supposedly napping and instead I see her playing with one of her stuffed animals. I said “that’s not napping”. She started laughing and replied “no kidding”! I had to walk away I started laughing so hard. And as I left she yells “go away mom I’m busy trying to nap”. As I read this I realize the words don’t capture the comedy of it all because it’s her tone that really makes you laugh.
When she is doing something, anything, putting toys away etc, she talks herself through it. When she makes a mistake like putting a toy in the wrong box she’ll say “Oh, wrong place. It goes in here. Of course, of course.”
Her sort of grown up way of doing things is what makes me forget that she’s still 2.5. Therefore when she’s not listening or going a million miles a minute I really have to remember that these actions are the norm for 2.5 so it’s my turn to be patient with her. The more patient I am the better she behaves. I have to remember this give and take. It’s hard to remember that even though they are our children and should do as we say they are still little people with feelings and desires just like our adult friends. Must remember this.
