It’s all been much easier. P goes pee in the potty every time, even while we’re out in public. Even when I’m not around, like when she’s in yoga class or with our neighbor she goes in the toilet. This is huge!
Poo is still hit or miss. She’s used the toilet twice. She goes twice a day so I try to be home during those times. It’s not too big a deal since one is in the morning and the second one is after her nap. She seems not to go when we’re out in public. Curious.
I’m not making a big deal about it. I’m talking to her about the freedom of letting it all go. That doesn’t seem to be the barrier. I think it has something more to do with her handling it. Literally. Today was a tough day because the first accident happened and she tried to dispose of it herself. I had to wash her, top to bottom, and all three rugs in the bathroom. The second time she got diarrhea. A mess. Another head to toe washing of P and a wipe down of anything she was close to. I’m hoping her hands on experience with it today may bring forth some progress tomorrow.
For me it’s all going quite well. She’s gone poo in the toilet twice and to me this is a huge leap forward. At night time she is also making progress. If she pees during the night it’s between 11pm-12am. After a quick change she is back to sleep. I have to watch her fluid intake close to bed time. If we get it right she’s good for the night.
I’m not sure what prompted the new habit sleeping through the night in her bed, in her room, but I like it. If she joins us, it’s not until 6 am. Oh, these are big leaps forward. I’m happy I’ve done it like this. And, I’m grateful my husband has had the patience. I couldn’t do the crying it out thing. Although it’s taken longer, I will do this method again the next time around.
