P’s been sick since February 24. I’ve been sick since the 17th. Both of us went to the doctor this week. She is on antibiotics. Dr. Shulman heard something in her lungs but he didn’t think it was bacterial. None the less he felt its a mild case of pneumonia. I still hear the congestion in her lungs when she’s breathing. She sounds like a purring cat. Her cough continues….as does mine.
I just spoke to the doctor on call. It’s Friday night, 6:30pm. I always feel like an over protective nut job when I speak to the doctor on call. I’d rather be safe than sorry, plus I had bronchitis when I was 2 and was put in a bubble for two weeks so I’m paranoid with proper cause, I believe.
Anyway, I was proactive yesterday, Thursday morning at 10am. I called the doctor but spoke to a nurse. She felt we could wait another day and see if the cough got any better. She didn’t give me a breakdown of symptoms and what to really worry about. The doctor today did. She gave me an explanation of what it could be, why it isn’t something worse and what to look out for in the event she does take a turn for the worse. I love it when doctors don’t treat me like an imbecile just because I don’t have a PhD.
