P has spoken complete, eloquent sentences. It happens sporadically and it’s only happened a few times. The other day we went to REI and when we parked she said “Pappa you parked too far away from the store. I don’t like it”. Just like that! Eloquent, with feelings and complete. Hubby and I looked at each other in disbelief.
This talking pattern, more than anything else, really marks for me that my “baby” is becoming a little person. These baby moments will soon disappear. This makes me sad. I record her voice quite often because it’s just so endearing to me.
I find the way they pick up speech so incredible. Like they just figure out how to unlock this code and all of the sudden they are conversing in full on sentences and then having conversations! It is truly an amazing thing to watch.
The other day I told the kids they could ride their bikes after breakfast and (of course!) Lily was taking her typical hour to eat. Owen had been long finished and he said MAMA I WANT TO PLAY. I said OKAY THEN, GET LILY TO EAT HER BREAKFAST. He came down the stairs and said LILY TAKE A BITE!! And when she did, he says GOOD JOB LILY! HIGH 5! lol. Then he says ANOTHER ONE!!! He actually coached her through eating her entire breakfast!
Owen finally finding his speech has gone an incredibly long way in helping him not to be so frustrated and physical. He has shifted so much in the past few weeks…and I am so thankful! He was having a terrible time not beiong able to communicate all of the things going on in his head.
To see Lily's reaction and the way she lit up as he was helping her was something really neat. They are finally getting to interact with eachother (good and bad). It is so fun to see the good!
