One of my favorite things to do with P is to show her the real version of somethings she’s read in a book or sang in a song. A few weeks ago we rode the bus for the first time. We’ve ridden the bus two other times but she was too young to put it all together.
The Orange Line runs by our house. The stop is about 8 blocks away. I left the stroller at home in hopes of giving P a fun workout as we walked the pathway there. It was a blast. The walk was amazing. Getting the tickets was amazing. Waiting for the bus was amazing and then riding the bus was amazing. It was so amazing because I could see on her face the connection of “the wheels on the bus go round and round”. When people got on…”the doors on the bus go open and shut”, when we went over bumps…”the people on the bus go up and down”.
Now when she sees a bus go by she gets so excited “I ride bus! I ride bus!”. Before the ride I use to point buses out as they zoomed by but she didn’t give them a second look. Now, she points the buses out to me! The world is so amazing to see for the first time all over again.
